We are happy to announce that Dr. Izabela Zaborniak and Dr. Monika Flejszar from the research group of Prof. Paweł Chmielarz (Chmielarz Research Group) were among the winners of the START 2024 competition funded by the Foundation for Polish Science.
The START program is a scholarship program for the best young scientists representing all fields of science. Its aim is to support outstanding young scientists and encourage them to pursue further scientific development. Winners of the START program receive an annual scholarship of PLN 30,000.
The competition is addressed to outstanding young scientists with significant successes in their field of science, who have achievements documented in publications, are PhD students or Ph.D. in Poland in an entity whose statutory objectives are to conduct scientific research or development work, and who are not older than 30 years of age in the year of submitting the application.
In this year's edition, the "hundred" awarded researchers were selected from a group of 641 candidates!
Scientific achievements of competition winners working in the research group of prof. Chmielarz include many works published in prestigious journals from the Philadelphia List in the field of atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) for applications in the syntheses of functional polymer materials, while designing ecological and economic synthetic solutions.
