We are happy to announce that Dr. Monika Flejszar from Prof. Paweł Chmielarz's research group (Chmielarz Research Group), has been awarded funding for her preliminary research in the Miniatura 8 competition announced by the National Science Centre! The proposal entitled. ‘Development of environmentally friendly dispersion systems for the synthesis of hydrophobic polymeric nanocoatings’, came first in the ranking list, and the amount of funding awarded is PLN 49,998.
Competition MINIATURA 8
The Miniatura 8 competition is a program of the National Science Centre, to which applications can be submitted for the implementation of a single scientific activity that has not been and is not financed by the NCN or other sources. The scientific activity can be carried out in the form of preliminary/pilot studies, queries, scientific internships, research trips, or consultation trips. The primary goal of the competition is to financially support a scientific activity aimed at preparing a future research project planned to be submitted in NCN competitions, other national or international competitions. In the competition, financial resources ranging from 5,000 to 50,000 PLN can be obtained for the implementation of a scientific activity lasting up to 12 months.
Research topics
The main subject of the scientific activity planned by Dr. Monika Flejszar is preliminary research aimed at verifying and assessing the possibility of using a heterogeneous reaction environment (miniemulsions) as an innovative and ecological alternative for the synthesis of polymer brushes grafted from flat surfaces. The topic of the planned scientific activity aligns with current trends in designing chemical processes based on the pillars and goals of sustainable development, which is one of the horizontal principles of the European Union.
