Each year, PTChem awards prizes for achievements in chemistry and related disciplines, including outstanding scientific achievements and the best distinguished master's and doctoral theses defended in the year preceding the award.
Laureates of the Awards are obliged to publish a review article on their scientific achievement in a special convention issue of the journal Chemical News and to give a lecture/lecture in the section relevant to the specialty presented by the Laureate of the Award. On this occasion, Dr Flejszar, while attending the 66th PTChem Congress, gave a presentation entitled: ‘Modern concepts for the synthesis of functional polymer brushes using surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerisation (SI-ATRP) techniques’ and summarised the results of her research work included in the awarded dissertation.
