We are pleased to announce that Faustyna Stopyra, BSc, a second-year master’s student in Chemical Technology at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Ignacy Łukasiewicz Rzeszów University of Technology, has been awarded the Ministry of Science and Higher Education Scholarship for significant achievements for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate significant scientific and artistic achievements related to their studies or sporting achievements. For the 2025/2026 academic year, out of 1,155 applications meeting the scholarship requirements, the Minister of Science and Higher Education selected 402 recipients representing 48 scientific and artistic disciplines.
Faustyna Stopyra, BSc, is a member of the Chmielarz Research Group and the “IPSUM” Student and Graduate Research Club of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering (https://ipsum.prz.edu.pl/). She began her research activities in her second year of engineering studies under the supervision of Dr. Monika Flejszar and Prof. Paweł Chmielarz. The subject matter of her research includes the synthesis and modification of polymeric materials using atom-transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) methods, with a particular focus on environmentally friendly reaction systems that align with the principles of green chemistry. As part of her academic activities, she participated in four research projects funded by the National Science Centre (NCN) and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW) under the “Student Research Clubs Create Innovations” program. She has presented her research findings at seven national and international conferences and is also a co-author of two publications in international scientific journals with a combined Impact Factor (IF) of 10. In the 2025/2026 academic year, Ms. Faustyna also received a special award from DuPont in the 15th edition of the “Gold Medal in Chemistry” competition organized by the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, awarded for her engineering thesis titled “Synthesis of functional polymer nanolayers inspired by green chemistry principles.”
